What you'll do
This experience can be done with any camera and any skill level. You can use a smartphone, point-and-shoot, any kind of mirrorless camera, and, of course, an SLR. The photography tips and tricks you will learn can be applied to any camera type. In the first hour we will dive into the basics of photography. I'll help you set up your camera and explain how you can make the best use of your camera and its settings. While we walk, I will point out interesting spots and explain different compositions. In the second hour we will explore more of Shanghai's hotspots and practice capturing them. You will be able to shoot architecture, street life, abstract compositions, portraits, and play with freezing motion and light.
Having worked in the world of arts and design ever since I graduated from the Academy of Arts, I became truly enchanted by photography when a friend gave me his old SLR film camera because he had no use for it. From then, the journey started. Today I work as a professional photographer shooting for e-commerce, fashion, product photography, and portraiture. I have a profound knowledge about shooting in various light situations, inside and outside the studio, and I am passionate about sharing this knowledge with you. I want to encourage you to find the creator within you.
Transportation Taxi or e-bike transportation will be included if it's necessary for the experience.
Where you'll be
I have selected a few of the known and not-so-known spots of Shanghai. We will start at the busy East Nanjing Road pedestrian street and walk up to the well-known Bund. From there, I will take you away from all the tourists and into the smaller streets of Shanghai. We will visit typical local alleys, neighborhoods, and the former Jewish Quarter. I will show you a hidden spot to get a rare view of the Pearl Tower.
