What you'll do

Be part of a select few who get to learn about the history and unique design style of this private Hollywood estate. Guests will be treated to a wine and cheese reception and assigned to a guided tour of the home led by one of the family members. There will be plenty of time to leisurely explore the beautiful garden and front lawn of this magnificent historically significant home. Bring your friends to enjoy a lovely summer evening in this Mediterranean and Spanish colonial revival design treasure. This is a unique chance to glimpse into an architectural gem. There is no specific dress code for these events but we encourage you to dress up, channel your vintage and classic style, bring out your hats, and don't forget your cameras as the space lends itself for great pictures to capture this one of a kind experience. The LA Parks Foundation celebrates 10 years of serving our communities by supporting the work of the City's Department of Recreation and Parks. 100% of all proceeds from this experiences goes towards supporting LA Parks Foundation's work.

We raise funds to enhance, expand, preserve and promote public recreation, parks and open space. Help us support 450 natural areas, playgrounds, senior centers, beaches, and historical sites providing respite, healthy escapes, and green living!

Where you'll be

The Wattles Mansion and Gardens, nicknamed 'Jualita', was designed by Myron Hunt and Elmer Grey, two prominent L.A. architects, for Nebraska financier Gurdon Wattles in 1909. Designed in a Mediterranean and Mission style, this historical site is located in the heart of Hollywood and sits on 47 acres as an stunning example of SoCal landscape architecture. The home is part of the City's Wattles Garden Park located on the edge of Runyon Canyon.

More tips

Driving north on Curson Ave., attendant will lead cars through a gate on the right hand side. Free parking will be available on site at dirt lot around the front lawn. Carpooling is recommended.
