What we’ll do

We'll see the standard sights (memorials and monuments), and get background info and stories that will surprise you about our nations's capital. We'll rent bikes from Bike n Roll ($8/hour) and see DC on two wheels (staying mostly on paths). Stopping frequently to chat, we'll discuss DC's growth from 1800 to now, with fun stories and good insights.

What else you should know

Bring your camera. I'll help make arrangements for inexpensive bike rentals. You will be paying for the rental yourselves.

Where you'll be

The National Mall, Capital Hill (including the Capital, Library of Congress, & Supreme Court), the White House, and Tidal Basin (Jefferson Memorial and cherry trees). The Mall includes the Capital, Smithsonian Castle, WW2 memorial, Korean War memorial, Vietnam War memorial, Washington Monument, and Lincoln Memorial. We can also see Arlington Cemetery, the Iwo Jima Memorial, and parts of Georgetown & Embassy Row. Your choice, based on time.
