About your host

I have been working with FareShare for over 8 years. After a career in Corporate Human Resources, moving across into the not for profit sector has been both refreshing and extremely rewarding. You'll discover, like I did, that FareShare is a magic place to work and volunteer. It is powered by people passionate about making a tangible difference - both in reducing food waste and helping others…

About FareShare

FareShare runs Australia's longest running, largest and most popular charity kitchen. We rescue, grow and cook food into nutritious meals for people in need. Our Abbotsford kitchen is powered by volunteers who cook 5000 free meals every day guided by experienced chefs. This is a social impact experience where 100% of what you pay for this experience goes to FareShare. .

Where you'll be

We'll be gathering at the FareShare kitchen at 1-7 South Audley St, Abbotsford. Abbotsford is in the inner east of Melbourne and has a highly culturally diverse population. It is vibrant and bustling - although like many other places around Melbourne, it does face its own social challenges including poverty, homelessness and drug abuse.
