What you'll do

Upon arrival be prepared to be greeted with smiles and a hot cup of tea. I'll give a quick lay of the land so that you can instantly feel at home on The Farm, followed by a brief description of what's on tap that day in the six dye vats. Eye candy is my favorite, lot's of past projects and results will be on display for your inspiration and learning. Using only local plants or kitchen items in our dye vats we will create awesome beauty. Folding, clamping, twisting textiles and fibers before submerging them in the plants nectar. I will provide each person with a cotton handkerchief, raw silk scarf and plenty of fabric scraps to practice technique. Participants are also encouraged to bring an clothing item or equivalent from home to toss in the vats. When we hear the supper bell from the Farmhouse we can head to the orchard or glasshouse, to enjoy your picnics. After some yummy eats and relaxing we'll return to the Cider house for a quick demo on bundle dying and then jump in to this easy, fun satisfying process. To close; share final projects, collect goodies, exchange IG handles and unfortunately say Goodbye. Please inquire about our Airbnb listings if lodging is needed.

Michele

Hi I'm Michele, I am the founder of The Farm, a 6-acre apple farm that hosts workshops, Airbnb guests, tiny weddings and special events. I consider this property to be one giant art project, always adding inspiring details and new additions. I love to make things, I try not to let a day go by without making something. I have an art degree but my passion for learning new skills and processes is what makes me a a fun teacher. I learn by doing and I encourage my guests/students to jump in. It brings me tons of joy to share The Farm with other makers. Can't wait to meet you at The Farm!
