About your host

I am a second generation stone carver. My father was a Greek immigrant who had a fascinating career as a sculptor and carver and I naturally followed in his footsteps. I have worked publicly and privately, and still teach a stone carving seminar in New England in the summer.

What we’ll do

We will be taking you to an actual artist's studio to try your hand at the lost art of stone carving and restoration! Time permitting, we will take you on a brief tour to show you what to strive for.!

You can opt to arrive by subway or car. A ride will be provided from the subway.

Where you'll be

We will be in the studio of an artist who worked on many public and private buildings in and around Washington, D.C. Your host, a second generation stone carver, will bring this ancient discipline to life and ensure you will leave with a finished piece to show those back at home.

Guest requirements

Up to 4 guests ages 18 and up can attend. Be able to handle repetitive hammering on stone, a steady hand, and we will take care of the rest.
