I also can trace my roots back to the original Sephardic families who came to settle in the colonies, albeit in New York and Newport. A walking tour of Philadelphia's Old City and Society Hill, focusing on the early history of the Jewish community in Philadelphia, their involvement in the American Revolution and the early years of the United States. We will also, toward the end, touch upon the wave of Jewish immigration to South Philly starting in the 1880s, viewing some of the historic synagogues in Society, and concluding with…
