What you'll do
Discover quiet roads, rail trails and one of the most unique café's in the Kootenays on this beautiful bike ride. We'll meet downtown Nelson and set you up with one of our iconic Surly Straggler road bikes (electric bicycles are available for an additional $20, payable in person). I'll be your guide and shuttle driver to our starting point 20 minutes outside of Nelson on the Slocan Valley Rail Trail. We'll cycle along the recently paved rail trail and then do a little known loop through the rural countryside. On our way back, we'll stop for a coffee (or tea) and a freshly baked treat at a hidden gem of a café before following the rail trail back to our starting point. This is a 20km round trip ride, with 175m of elevation gain including a moderate 5km climb. All trails/roads are paved, including 10km on the gentle rail trail. Guests should be in appropriate physical condition and familiar with road bikes.
