What you'll do
We’ll stroll grand avenues and meander down side streets north and west of Dupont Circle, where elite Washingtonians built the District’s largest and finest homes from the Gilded Age through the Roaring Twenties. You’ll learn how the Great Depression cemented the neighborhood's identity as a consular zone, and hear the stories of the celebrities, diplomats, business titans, and political figures — including many Presidents — who have called it home. I’ll also tell you about the architects, designers and builders of the sites we visit, and make connections to their other notable works within DC and beyond.
