About Congregation Hafotzas Hamayonos

Here at the congregation we are charged with a mission to enhance the quality of life of anyone we encounter. This is done through educating others how to live more peacefully with ourselves and with others. We accomplish this through many different mediums, including tours.

What we’ll do

We will visit some of the 'still in use' synagogues in the lower east side of Manhattan, as we stroll around what was once a very bustling Jewish community. We will also have a presentation of pickle making.

What else you should know

The area is easily accessible by train. Always dress according to the expected weather, and with modest attire respectful of the holy sites we will visit. Please bring your curiosity and good spirits.

Where you'll be

We will visit the old MTJ which is an academy for Jewish studies which began in the Lower East Side. We will see several synagogues on Shteebel Row which still function today.
