What you'll do
The tour will be about 1.5 hours beginning at Toronto’s central Union Station and ending at the Distillery District which is about a 15 minute walk from Union Station passing by Toronto’s historic St. Lawrence Market. First we go to Toronto’s lakeside residential and entertainment centre. We will ride along the bicycle trail in the Harbourfront area and to where the ferries depart for Toronto’s different islands. We then continue on the bicycle trail and travel west around the lake passing a beach along an old sugar factory before heading through a former industrial area to a natural beach. The beach is an historic city beach perched along forested trails. We then continue through a forest until coming to one of Toronto’s most impressive and unusual ecological areas. Once a former construction dumping site, this enormous parcel of land is now a major bird nesting site, and natural water wonderland with beautiful camera-ready views of downtown Toronto. The last stop is a converted former industrial distillery centre which is now a wonderful restaurant and shopping area. The tour ends here enabling a relaxing walk through this attractive area. One can walk back to Union Station stopping at St. Lawrence Market or hop on a streetcar to get back to Union.
A bicycle is provided. Helmets are not provided and are not mandatory in Toronto for riders at least 18 years old.
Toronto has great architecture, theatres, and restaurants. But I want you to discover the unexpected. Why is Toronto called “a city in a park”? On bicycle come experience this ecology of forests, rivers, parks and wildlife. See how even former industrial areas are now natural wonderlands! I’m a native to Toronto and know its hidden charms well. I have great memories of cycling through rice fields in Sri Lanka, hills in Rwanda, and the streets of Nanjing, Kyoto, Buenos Aires and Kathmandu. Let a nature-lover take you cycling through fresh air, beauty by the water and great photo opportunities!

Where you'll be
A feature experience is a gorgeous nature park difficult to access without a bicycle and intimate knowledge of its pathways. It is impressive to be in a big city and totally feel like you are in the countryside. My aim is to create a feeling of delight and the unexpected. I’m passionate for off-the-beaten path cycling with considerable worldwide “best practices” experience of such tours as a guest.
