What you'll do
Yes, Edinburgh has a mini mountain in the centre of the city. Once you see it you will want to climb it! I know every part of Arthurs Seat which means I can show you the hidden paths and the best viewpoints for photos that the usual tourists don't get to see. I will tell you all sorts of stories and legends about Arthurs seat and the places you can see in the city below. We will meet at the bottom of the famous Royal Mile in the heart of Edinburgh's historic Old Town. From here we walk into The Queens Park and begin our adventure. We explore past lochs, a spring, a ruined chapel and beautiful natural scenery until we reach the summit. Here we survey the 360 degree views over the city, Pentland Hills and the sea. We descend by a different route past the stunning rock architecture of Salisbury Crags. From here there is the option to head to a great local Scottish pub I know for some food, drink and socialising, or return to the starting point. Scotland is a real dog loving country with no leash laws so I'll often bring my dog on the hike for you to play with. If you don't want him along just let me know and he can stay home.
I am Scottish, I grew up in Edinburgh and I have a lot of experience walking hills all over Scotland. I have been an Edinburgh cycle guide for 4 years and often my guests request a tour of this mountain so I decided to start this walking tour. I love bringing people together and creating a connection, so the tour is a fun way to hike Arthur's seat if you want to meet other people and walk together. I have a first aid qualification and can keep you safe on the route.
Bring own drinks & snack Please bring water with you as you will get thirsty and unfortunately I can't carry water for…
Where you'll be
Depending on the weather we can choose from a number of routes. All of them will reach the top and descend via spectacular scenery. Afterwards you may like to join me for some tasty Scottish food in one of my favourite local pubs. It's slightly off the beaten track where the locals go, but on the way back into the city centre.
