What you'll do

The safari outpost that we'll trek through, called Tumaren, sits within Laikipia, known in Kenya for the healthiest wildlife numbers in the country, including the second largest herd of elephants. We'll do a camel-assisted walk from our first camp at Brain Rock to Elephant Camp, spotting plains game and hopefully the predators that hunt them. We'll also learn to identify the markings of ancient humans that once called the rock formation home. Next, we'll walk along the Ewaso Nyiro River where elephants come to drink and bathe, and finally we’ll head back to Nanyuki airport.

What's included

Food
3 breakfasts, 3 dinners, 3 lunches

James

We have been guiding walking safaris since 2004 and we are used by all the large Safari Agents. In 2017 we won The Best Walking Safari in Africa from the Safari Awards. We are members of the Kenyan Association of Tour Operators, African Travel and Tourism Association, and Ecotourism Kenya. Our guides are all First Aid Trained and we take natural history, ecology and conservation very seriously.

Where you'll be

A driver will pick us up at Nanyuki airport, in Kenya's Central Highlands, then we'll head 2 hours north to Laikipia to begin our safari. Nanyuki is a 40 minute flight from Nairobi.
