What you'll do

Come experience Kingston in Spring!

We will meet in the heart of Kingston's downtown core among all the wonderful sights and smells the city has to offer. Next, we will embark on our tour of downtown Kingston together, checking out hidden alleyways and the highlights of my city. There will be plenty of time to snap pictures to capture the best image. I'll go over the history and stories of Kingston throughout our journey. Just when you are ready to rest your feet we will head down to the waterfront for a tea tasting experience. We will complete a full sensory evaluation of tea, comparing and contrasting different teas from around the world. We will end the tour with panoramic views of the water as we enjoy delicious tea and conversation. Suitable for solo travellers. On colder days blankets will be provided for the tea tasting portion of the event.

We will cup 4 different teas for the tea tasting.

Hi! My name is Erica and I am one of 231 Tea Sommeliers across Canada. A tea sommelier is an expert on tea, and I can’t wait to share my knowledge with you. Before I started to train my palette and study tea, I was a tour guide for Canada’s most popular tourist destinations: Niagara Falls and Ottawa.

What does touring a destination and tasting tea have in common? Both experiences tell the unique story of geography, climate, people and places. Not only am I your guide for Kingston and tea, I will be your storyteller.

Where you'll be

Together we will explore limestone alleyways and Kingston's famous tucked away artist alleyway that is covered with local art. Highlights will include Kingston's last gas lamp, several national heritage sites, a stationary train and the most interesting buildings of Kingston's downtown core. Our tea tasting will take place at the water, across from Wolfe Island and in the backdrop of Kingston's Royal Military College.

Erica is very nice and friendly. She knows all the stories and secret beautiful places in the city. She made me love the city. You don’t need to buy anything, but there was one store I really like it, so I went back by ourselves at afternoon. The five tea she offered from different countries were really good. Highly recommend XD

I really enjoyed my walk around Kingston with Erica. She explained the history and architecture , was easy to chat to, and showed me interesting places I returned to later to check out on my own time. The tea tasting component was exceptional. Erica is vey knowledgeable and passionate about tea; I learned a lot... and have been happily telling everyone about what I learned! I really appreciate the fact that I signed up for this experience at 11pm for the following morning and she responded promptly. Thank you Erica for a lovely introduction to Kingston and tea. I recommend this experience.

Our Sip and Sightseeing tour with Erica was exceptional... she was very knowledgeable about the Kingston area and also the teas that we enjoyed afterwards. I would highly recommend this tour to get to know Kingston better, and some great loose leaf teas.

What a great way to see the downtown core and learn the history of Kingston. Erica was delightful and provided lots of interesting information enabling us to explore further on our own. I loved the early start as we had limited time in the city. Ending with the tea sampling was novel and a great way to end the tour. Now I'm a bit wiser about tea too! So pleased I chose this tour! Highly recommended! Thank you Erica.
