What you'll do

Having gathered together at Hang Hau MTR, we will travel out together to the Sai Kung region where our adventure awaits us. Here we can stock up on any food and drinks to take along with us if you don't have already.

Tucked away in Sai Kung Country Park, the section of the HK Geopark we will explore is stunning in all weather. Embark on an adventure in search of uninhabited islands and untouched beaches. If conditions allow, we can also paddle through dramatic sea arches and caves!
Other things to note
Some closed shoes and plenty of fluids are important to bring. A hat/suncream, swimsuit, some spare clothes and a small towel could be handy too

Embark on an adventure with Rory and his colleague Tristan, both of whom are highly experienced guides having taken tours all over the countryside of Hong Kong for many years.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, before spending his teenage years between HK and Scotland; Rory was never a stranger to the intrepid side of life! Whether it be cycling solo across Africa & Vietnam, sailing to the Artic, trekking in the Himalayas, summiting peaks in the Scottish Highlands or hunting for secret waterfalls in the wilds of Hong Kong, he is always keen to utilise any opportunity to explore.

As experienced travellers, we really enjoy meeting visitors and sharing with them a different side to Hong Kong that many would not think exists.

Where you'll be

Exploring stunning waters and beaches, you'll hardly believe you're in Hong Kong!

Will be kayaking within the Eastern Sai Kung Country Park section of the HK Geopark, however exactly where is dependant on weather conditions and participants ability which will be assessed out there on the water.

We will escape the crowds to explore this distant eastern region of the territory and uncover a few hidden gems :)

Had a great experience with Tristan kayaking around beautifull quiet and clean bays. A great way of discovering the Hong Kong most people have no idea exists.

My Kayaking trip was hosted by Rory’s associate Tristan and it was fantastic! We quickly connected outside the MTR station and were on our way. Tristan mapped out our planned kayaking route and made sure I was comfortable with the distance we were going to be going. He also checked in during the trip to ensure I was ok with the route we took, or if we needed to shorten it. The route we ended up on did require a good bit of effort (9-11 km of paddling if I am remembering correctly?).... but it was amazing! Saw an old fishing village, paddled around multiple islands In the new territories including a beach only accessible via boat/water... would recommend this to anyone with a free day in HK!

We had our guide Tristan take us on this adventure. He was friendly and relatively informative. My girlfriend and I were completely new to kayaking but definitely an interesting experience. Note to future guests, this is exhausting. I believe because it was just us 2 and Tristan, our trip went quicker than expected and the tide was not high enough to go through certain caves. Note to guests, bring your snacks/food to eat. Lunch is on a public / private beach on a island. Your pack will get wet. I will recommend to find a local shop that sells a bag for your cell phones so they don't get wet while you can still take pictures. They should not cost you more than $20 hkd. I definitely will be kayaking in many places in the future.

This was a great experience. Tristan, our guide for the day adapted the exact route taken based on the group's experience and we got to experience some wonderful beaches and views.

This was a great experience that showed me a cool part of Hong Kong outside of the city! Rory was a great host and brought me to unique places I would have never found on my own and made it a fun time

Fun experience, however our group was very large (not usual) so we didn't really get the experience we signed up for. The views were still great and weather was just perfect for Kayaking. Guides were very knowledgeable and accommodating. Bring sunscreen!!
