What you'll do

Cypress forests, wildlife, unique birds and more!

We will pick you up and in New Orleans in a minivan, with no more than six guests, and bring you out to our private launch site in a beautiful, off-the-beaten path swamp. We will drop you back off after the tour.

Explore the Maurepas Swamp on our customized flat-bottom boat. Our small group size of 6 ensures that you get a chance to ask our local naturalist captain all the questions you want. Our small boat’s engine doesn’t scare wildlife away and allows us to get deeper into the swamp that you would with the large-boat operators. In fact, there are no other boat tours in the area where we go, which allows for a really special experience. Learn more and see more! The Maurepas Swamp is located halfway between New Orleans and Baton Rouge.

We are one of the few swamp tours in Louisiana that doesn’t feed alligators. *We see wildlife on most of our tours but it is of course impacted by weather and chance* Our customized flatboat navigates through shallow waters, getting you deeper into the swamp than most tours can. See more quiet and isolated areas and spot more wildlife that hasn’t been scared off by other passing boats.

We are one of the few swamp tours in Louisiana that doesn’t feed alligators. We are a true ecotour company, and we believe in respecting the environment and being aware of the threats that face this valuable wetland region.

Our fuel-efficient motor is quiet, so we don’t scare off wildlife as the airboats do. Glide around wide river bends at 30 mph with the wind blowing through your hair, and look for gators and other creatures while you slowly creep through narrow passageways surrounded by cypress and willow trees draped with Spanish moss.

Where you'll be

The Maurepas Swamp is a biodiverse 110,000-acre federally protected wildlife management area. Keep your eyes peeled for gators, great blue herons, otters, beavers, bald eagles, owls, deer, wild pigs, and turtles. Birdwatchers love this tour; there are tons of woodpeckers, fishing birds, and migratory songbirds that live out here.

Jared kept wonderful communication, our tour guide was respectful to other fishers and often pointed out wild life, the shuttle driver individual was kind to all on board and showed us a local snow cone place! All around was a great fun would definitely recommend others.

Good little afternoon tour to see some of the area outside of New Orleans. The owner of the company was swift to communicate with us that we would not be able to tour the intended location. The back-up location they took us too was good. Saw plenty of gators, despite the cloudy, somewhat chilly weather. Great value for the price you pay.

Although this tour didn't take place in the planned location due to high waters, the new location was amazing! And the owner was great about giving us a heads up about location change and options. Our driver was super courteous and helpful, and the captain of the tour was very knowledgeable about the environment, vegetation and history of the area. We saw several gators on this tour and some beautiful scenery despite the cloudiness. We will definitely come back on our next trip to New Orleans. Thanks guys! ❤
