I was looking for an authentic experience that wasn't commercial. I had a great time truffle hunting and then had lunch with the farmers. This gave me a real idea of what their lives were like.

We spent the morning with the two brothers and two dogs. After meeting at a cafe in Asti, we followed them easily with our car until a nice spot to pick truffles. The hike was easy. It rained a bit before but our hiking shoes were enough. We found a 5-6 truffles of different kinds, including whites, and sizes. We could search ourselves after the dogs found some spots. Along the way, the hosts answered all our questions and shared their personal stories about truffle hunting. They were very knowledgeable, skilled and passionate. They also spoke good English. At the end of the experience, we bought one of the truffle for a fair price.

Riccardo's sons took us in the Valley, in their own favourite places, with their two well trained dogs. We found a few truffles (small but very smelly ^^) so that was good ! Note however, that there is no breakfast or coffee included in the price. The experience is simply about sharing a truffle hunting with local professionals, which is already great and brings back to reality all those crazy truffle shows every tourist can see in Alba and around.

We had such a great time! The host really knew what they were talking about probably more than anyone else would have. They are a part of a professional organization, and they have four generations worth of experience! We told them in advance that I was pregnant and we were bringing a two-year-old and a hiking backpack. They made sure to choose a route that worked for us. Their communication was very quick, and I know that they truly cared about our well-being. We spent about three hours out hunting for truffles. After those three hours we were tired, and they offered to go to lunch with us at the super local and authentic place that we would have never found without them! We were treated like family and they were so willing to help us even when our car wouldn’t start. I highly recommend them!

Wonderful experience. We found 1 white truffle (available for purchase after tour) and two black truffles! We had a wonderful morning with Ricardo and his son. While Ricardo did not speak much English, his son was the perfect translator. We spend lots of time walking outside with the 3 dogs, searching for the truffle and my husband was able to dig and pull the truffles direct from the ground. We went for lunch with a friend of the family Gulia at a very authentic restaurant and we were treated like kings! Wonderful day! Would highly recommend

Fantastic & authentic experience in great company! Ricardo and his son know everything about truffels and taught us everything we need to know. If you are looking for a hotel the night before, I recommend Cascina Rosengana.
