What you'll do

Learn a lot about the Lowcountry! Hilton Head has such a unique ecosystem. May through October is Sea Turtle Season, the other 6 months we shift into Sharks and finding teeth.
We will meet at a specific, off the beaten path beach and walk approximately 1 mile (depending on tide). We will discuss what we find, what we should keep or leave on the beach and how our everyday activities affect what may be happening in the ocean. I will also carry a bag to help keep our beach clean, if we should see any trash. This saves any marine life or birds from ingesting or being entangled in harmful material.
A few of my favorite topics include Sea Turtles, Horseshoe Crabs, sand crabs, fiddler crabs, ghost crabs, sharks, sand dollars, and of course our local dolphin. Perfect spot for birding as well.
Other things to note
The town of Hilton Head maintains restroom facilities located at the parking area. We will walk approximately 1/2 a mile in one direction and back, totaling just over a mile in length.

We learned so much on our tour. We ghost crab dens, hermit crabs, the ancient horseshoe crab, shark teeth, different snails, many different types of birds, and even a BALD EAGLE!! So worth the drive over from Savannah! Holly was so full of information and gave so many interesting facts. I'm so glad my wife and I were able to have this experience!

Holly is a very genuine and knowledgable guide! She structured our walk around our particular interests and went out of her way to point out unique and interesting items! Holly was quick to respond to our communication as we thought heavy bridge traffic would affect our arrival time, but we managed to make it on time. We would highly recommend!

We had a fantastic time with Holly on the beach nature walk/talk. She explained so much about what we encountered and saw. Great detail when needed along with broad context for what was happening environmentally around us. Incredible personality. Highly recommend. Be sure to wear appropriate footwear for wet/sandy conditions and bring a small pouch to hold the the shells you’ll collect along the way!
