What you'll do
This tour will take place in Brickell, Miami's ritzy financial district and home to some of the tallest and most beautiful buildings in this part of the country. Find out how this land was transformed from a sleepy frontier homestead into a fashionable and densely-populated center of international finance and trade. We will see the remains of the 1920's Millionaire's Row mansions, The Miami Circle archeological site, and the Brickell family mausoleum as we explore the historic sites of this beautiful neighborhood. We will also see the modern and glamorous side of Brickell with its glass and steel skyscrapers, luxury hotels, and high-end shopping centers. The tour will pass through leafy streets and densely developed avenues before reaching the palm-fringed shore of Biscayne Bay. We will make make plenty of stops along the way to discuss the architecture and history of the area and to take some great pictures.
I am a designer, a published author and a world traveler. I am also an avid photographer with a passion for history and architecture. Miami is my home and I know it very well. In fact, my book Facade: Downtown Miami in Line Drawings explores the rich architectural history of this young and vibrant city. When I am not working on a design project or traveling, I enjoy sharing my experiences and knowledge of Miami with fellow travelers.

Where you'll be
One of the interesting areas we will see is the Brickell Millionaire's Row. Once filled with palatial mansions of the rich and famous, the neighborhood is now one of Miami's most coveted residential addresses with glamorous high-rise towers set within lush, tropical landscaping. What most visitors don't realize is that some of the old mansions are still there. You just have to look in the right place. Our tour will point out this hidden history
