What you'll do
At Olives and Oil we make pasta fresh from scratch every day! Chef John will teach you how to make basic pasta dough and infused colorful pasta doughs, how to make a basic pomodoro (tomato) sauce and some pan pasta sauces. Not only will Chef walk you through making pasta dough and making different cuts of fresh pasta but you will cook it side by side with him and enjoy the fruits of your labor with a perfectly paired glass of wine from one of our 16 wines on tap! Chef has many tips for prepping and cooking food and loves interacting with guests and answering questions about his Cullinary journey!

With over 18 years of culinary experience, Chef John Brennan has climbed through the ranks of the kitchen, working for several well-known restaurant groups along the way and eventually launching his own hospitality company in 2015 with the creation of his first concept, Elm City Social, “Kitchen & Cocktails. After being awarded CT Magazines 40 under 40 in 2015, Chef Brennan went on to open his second venture, Olives and Oil, “Italian Cucina & Wine Bar.” Chef boasts “from scratch” kitchens and serious beverage programs focused on craft cocktails, intricate wines & craft beer.

Where you'll be
We will be making fresh pasta at Chef John Brennan's restaurant and bar, Olives and Oil. Chef has an open kitchen where we will prep fresh pasta, cook, go over cooking techniques and in conclusion enjoy the pasta you created that day with a glass of wine hand selected by Chef John from one of our 16 wines on tap!
