What you'll do

We’ll go to the cloud-forest in the mountains of Heredia on a LEVEL 4** hike that features two beautiful waterfalls and amazing landscapes.
We’ll meet in Heredia city center and drive to a Protected Area where we’ll trek through a recovered cloud-forest with exuberant vegetation and lesser fauna. We’ll visit two waterfalls and if you’re up for it, swim in the pure, cold mountain water!
After exploring the upper layers of the forest from atop a lookout point, we’ll head back to town to recover and enjoy a "casado" in a typical lunch

Where you'll be

Tapir Mountain is a private forest reserve with plenty of water streams, tropical trees, birds, small mammals, butterflies, mushrooms and ferns.

There, we hike three hours to a recovered cloud forest and breathe the cool mountain air. Once we reach the second waterfall you may enter the chill-water pool, or not!

Back in town, a delicious lunch is waiting for you to recover your strength.

You'll love to share the experience of this new trail!

The hike with Jeff was a great adventure and a perfect way to explore Costa Rican nature! His expertise about the trails as well as flora and fauna made in an exceptional experience. Highly recommended if you are looking for something beyond the usual tourist attractions and don't mind getting your shoes a little dirty!

Jeff was the best guide for this quick hike through the mountains. He took us to some magical places with lots of interesting stories and nature sightings. I’d highly recommend for anyone in San Jose with a day to burn. Great swim in the waterfall too!

Jeff was a great knowledgeable guide. He was not afraid to go off the beaten path! On the day that I joined him for a hiking experience, it was just he and I, and I left feeling accomplished and as if I had gained a new friend. The skill level of the hike was definitely intermediate. Not for those who cannot walk for long hours or survive a mudslide or two. Overall great experience!
