What you'll do

Welcome.. we're glad you found us.
You're moving to Canada (a big life decision) and want to know the best way to prepare before you leave home.

"We can help you take the guesswork out of your move"

Being super-hosts for over six years, we've seen many new Canadians arrive and they weren't prepared.

Why spend hours scrolling through your social media feeds when you could be working on other important aspects of your move.

In this workshop, we'll talk about the important things you need to know and do before you leave home.

The class will start with a few minutes of introductory discussion, where you can get to know one another.

We will discuss the following..

Preparing to leave your job.
How to best setup your bank accounts at home.
Transfering money overseas.
Bringing your pets.
How much cash can you bring to Canada?
Leaving family and friends behind.
And Much More!!

We will finish with a Q/A session.
You will leave with the tools to make a real plan, and maybe some new friends.
We also have a facbook group that you can join to stay in touch.

Best Regards,
Yvonne and Michael.

Over 25 years ago, we left our home in London England and arrived in Toronto, Canada.

A time before the internet or social media. Let me tell you about the "We." It was my wife and myself, together with our four children, aged seven to fourteen years old.

"Yes"we were a family of six. What were we thinking! A thought that I know some of our friends and family had but didn't say it out loud.
Maybe it was the frequent questions that gave it away.
I think everyone meant well.

They were concerned about the journey we were about to start with all the potential challenges ahead.

Why did you leave the UK and move to Canada?"
This is a question we are asked often!!

We will share our thoughts in the meeting.

Really helpful workshop. Take you through the ins and outs of life in Canada. I loved the fact that they could give me real life examples of how to navigate life in Canada, especially concerning some of the finer points which would be really difficult to learn about by just doing research on the internet.

It was a wonderful experience, Yvonne and Michael made special arrangements to suit my time. They provided me with very practical and handy advices with regards to housing and career planning. Not only so, they were hilarious! I'd recommend this to anyone hoping to get info on settling in Canada!

For anyone considering a move to Canada, this is the event for you. Yvonne and Michael take their decades of experience as immigrants themselves and present attendees with new and innovative ways to think about housing, working, and studying in Canada. They assessed my goals, considered my skills, took my fears and misgivings and turn them into options that were clear and doable. In addition, I was given resources to help formalize the immigration process if I chose to do so. They were both as warm and inviting as their home. I highly recommend attending this event! It will be well worth you time and money.
