I love exploring new restaurants and discovering hidden neighborhoods. I can never tell if I'm still hungry or just love food too much!

Adam was a great tour guide. He told us stories about the history of the Lower East Side that were cool to hear. The food was fantastic and stuffed us to the gills.

You'll get a wide variety of food, from the ultra-traditional NYC classics to more modern additions. The portions are generous and the tour is engaging; if you're looking to have the 'classic' NYC food experiences in a single afternoon without having to do the research yourself or stand in lines, this is a great tour.

The tour of the lower east side was amazing! We got to taste a lot of ethnic Ukrainian and Jewish food, and loved almost everything we had a chance to try out. A lot of the places covered are NYC institutions, but aren't places that we would've visited ordinarily. Plus, since one of us was a vegetarian, we wouldn't have gone to most of the places covered in the tour ourselves due to our mistaken belief that these places only offered non-vegetarian food. But, as we were assured by Jonathan, my partner did get to sample some excellent vegetarian food (which I got to share) in addition to the smorgasbord of non-vegetarian items that the places covered in the tour are world renowned for. All in all, it was a great value for us because we both were exposed to cuisines and food items from completely different cultures from our own, while being able to learn a little history of the LES and Ukrainian Village.

Jonathan was an AMAZING guide! He remembered all of our names and made it a point to get to know all of us. He also went above and beyond as he provided cold waters, sweet treats and GREAT stories. We would 10/10 recommend this tour!

The Lower East Side food tour is a treat! We learned about the area's tenements and street peddlers of years past and had eight tastings, starting with pastrami on rye with deli mustard at Katz's Deli, founded in 1888. We also tasted raspberry rugelach pastries, potato knish, Chinese dumplings, pickles, arancini, bialys, and donuts (flavors: "Brooklyn Blackout" chocolate and tres leches). It was all delish! Also included in the tour was a visit to the lovely, food-store-packed Essex Market on Delancey Street. And Johnathan, our tour guide, was very personable and informative. He remembered everyone's name, and he carried water, napkins, and utensils for everyone -- he was very well prepared. Conveniently, there were two bathroom stops on the tour, which ran 2 hours and 40 minutes. We loved it, and we would definitely go on another tour with sidewalktours.com.

We loved our walking food tour of the Lower East Side! Adam was informative and personable! He gave us a good feel of the history and culture of the neighborhood. It was a super hot day but Adam timed the stops so we were inside or in the shade a lot. He kept us hydrated and well fed. We would highly recommend Adam and any other tours he guides!!!
