What you'll do

More than 300 five stars reviews.

> In 2018, only 2 experience features on Airbnb Official Instagram page. This is one of them.

> You will meet hosts of the experience, then explore Bangkok's Chinatown by foot. One of the most exclusive experiences in Bangkok's China town.

> The experience designs to visit Bangkok Chinatown by Buay and Eng. We have been in love with travel for over 16 years. We love to meet new people, enjoy the exchange of knowledge and telling the story of Thai culture.

> We are third generation of Chinese descent. We love to visit Yaowarat (Bangkok Chinatown). It is not only a place to eat yummy Chinese food, buy good ingredient , gold shop or get a nice snack. But this is where our grand father arrived Thailand and began his new life here.

> Bangkok Chinatown is not just a tourist attraction for us. We have researched and gathered information to create this experience. Imagine, that you watch period Chinese movie. We would like to show you like in the old movie. You can see , feel, smell, taste and touch the old ways of living of Chinese in the old day that still exist today , the way they work , how do they live and eat.

My name is Buay. I host Airbnb experience host since 2017 and now I have 3 experiences on Airbnb :

I used to work for 5 companies as a tourist guide. But now I am happy to have my own experiences on Airbnb platform. And I am happy to create more and more to share with my lovely Airbnb guest.

Buay , Eng and their friends are third-generation Chinese. We love and are curious about the Thai-Chinese immigrant story since we are part of Thai-Chinese cultural heritage.

We went to see local guru , met lecturer in seminar , walked around our own , read books and showed many of our friends many times before coming up with this route. We are really exited to show the story of our ancestor’s path which how it makes all Thai-Chinese people as today.

Trip run by one of us ( Buay , Eng or friends, certified tour guide)

Where you'll be

We will walk through a crowded business alley and lanes of wet markets, shops, street vendors, local shoppers, and countless wooden colonial style shop houses. Chinatown is active, exhibiting color and movement that you should not miss.

I had the most amazing day with Buay. She was so caring and gave me the best experience of Chinatown - an area of Bangkok I love and now know so much more about. She made it a special day. Thank you!

Buay's trip to Chinatown is one of the best experiences I had on AirBnb. Buay is extremely knowledgeable about the area and she customized the trip to ensure that I not only was exposed to the beauty of the traditional streets but also got to see the lively part of town. It was an amazing afternoon to be showered in the unique culture of Bangkok Chinatown and Buay is definitely one of the best tour guide you could wish to find. Thank you Buay!

I found this tour as I was looking for an experience that was going to take me off the beaten path from the run of the mill tourist attractions. For starters, I knew this tour was going to be interesting when Buay introduced herself via Air BnB and mentioned that she had lived in Philadelphia, the city I had just moved from. The experience was everything Icould have hoped for from a tour. Buay guided me around the Yaowanrat section of Bangkok (Chinatown) with an immense knowledge of the history of the Chinese people who had been living there. We visited a temple that was for good careers. Right next to it was the first international school in Thailand, a Chinese international school. Buay took me to other culturally significant places as well. She is well-versed in the history and very friendly and warm as well. I felt more like I was in the company of a friend. At the end of the tour there was lunch at a Chinese restaurant. The food was delicious, how else would one end a great tour of Chinatown? I would recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in seeing the unseen parts of Bangkok's Chinatown. From the temples, to the goldsmith shop, to the food, and to Buay herself; it is definitely worth every minute. Thank you Buay!

It was an amazing tour in china town. Buay knows places I would have never found without her :-). I have been to Bangkok, but it was my first time I had the feeling to see the city like locals do. You learn so much about the Thailand/Chinese culture in the country and get some great food on the way. I would recommend it to everybody, even if you have been to Bangkok more than once and if you have not, it is a great starting point. Buay is a friendly person who will take care of you for sure.

The China town walk tour program was extra ordinary. We visited many interesting places. P Buay, tour guide is a real expert of this area. She knows almost every thing about the China town. The program is not only a normal touristic one but also include the various aspect of Thai-Chinese culture, for example we got to visit the smallest temple of bangkok in the area that used to be sex-workers red light district and above that temple provided tue space for the sex business. That was really surreal, like a mystery history of Thailand which you can’t find anywhere else but this tour.
