My skill has been perfected it over the past 5 years and I continue to learn. I love using indigo and the magic of the changing colours and patterns on the cloth. What we’ll do

Shibori is the ancient Japanese art of folding cloth to form a resist. In this shibori workshop you will learn how to fold, clamp, tie or sew material to form a pattern before dyeing in indigo. You will learn how to create an indigo vat and watch the magic of the dye turning from green to blue. There will be plenty of time to explore different techniques before designing your own silk or cotton…

Aprons and gloves are provided but I suggest wearing old clothes in case of splashes from the dye bath.

Where you'll be

My studio is in rural North Devon in an AONB. You will be working in the garden (weather permitting) with views of woodland and the sea.
