As members of the Agriculture Council and Organic farm association, they offer a range of experience on the growing and harvesting of heritage produce for a market garden. What we’ll do

Upon arrival at the farm, guests will be greeted with a light snack, safety lesson, orientation and determine level their farm knowledge. From 9:30am to 12 noon we will work according to the season and weather conditions - to planting, harvesting the heritage plants there will be experts to guide all visitors to gain the skills to care for a traditional market garden. This is a unique farm experience with no previous farming knowledge required. Families and guests of all ages and abilities are welcome. The experience can be adapted to suit groups.

What I’ll provide

Food
A hearty home made meal from the organic produce and local producers will be served as well as snacks and beverages.

What to bring

We recommend to come prepared for work with clothes that are comfortable and seasonally appropriate, wellies or workshoes/boots.
As well for your comfort we suggest a good sun hat, sunscreen and bug spray.

Where you'll be

Upon arrival at Springfield Farm, we will gather in the new traditional post and beam barn for orientation and farm safety lesson. We will enjoy a hot coffee/tea/hot cocoa and light snack before we head out on the weather-permitting traditional farm activity. There are 118 acres of farm fields and forests to explore and learn first-hand farming techniques, foraging, maple syrup production, field stone wall making and astronomy.

Guest requirements

Up to 10 guests ages 6 and up can attend.

Government ID

You’ll need to take a picture of yourself that matches the photo on your ID. This is so Airbnb can confirm who’s actually going on the experience. You’ll only have to do this once.
