About your host

I'm a Pacific Northwest transplant, originally from the UK. I've always loved volcanos and studied Environmental Science at University, but my career took me on another path. I wish to share my passion and knowledge of Mount Rainier with others, so they can discover and experience this amazing National Park. I'm told my British accent makes me easy to listen to.. so why not find out yourself!

What we’ll do

Spend the day experiencing Mount Rainier National Park. Learn about ecology and wildlife in the park traveling through lowland forests, gaining elevation, climbing into sub-alpine zones where forest gives way to beautiful meadows. Explore ancient old-growth forests, waterfalls and glacier fed river valleys on short easy hikes. We'll have plenty of time for exploration, spotting wildlife such as…

What else you should know

Please bring appropriate footwear, breathable clothing (avoid cotton). Even in summer, it may be cool, layers and waterproof jacket are recommended. Bug spray and sunscreen also recommended in summer.

What I’ll provide

Drinks
Warm and Cold drinks Water, Coffee, Teas (including Herbal) are complementary throughout the day. Bottled water is provided for hikes.
Transportation
From Downtown Seattle Transportation for the day is free. Travel in a new Ford Transit with passenger airbags for safety. Fully licensed in WA
Equipment
Snowshoes/hiking poles Snowshoes and hiking poles will be provided free of charge as needed. Please bring your own boots and appropriate clothing.

Where you'll be

Entering the park at Longmire, we'll visit Nisqually river basin to learn about glacial outburst floods. We'll view Narada falls, then stop at Paradise to hike the beautiful meadows and have lunch. Afterwards, we will move on to tranquil Reflection Lakes to experience unique vistas of Mt Rainier.

Communication policy

Guest requirements

Up to 10 guests ages 18 and up can attend.

Government ID

You’ll need to take a picture of yourself that matches the photo on your ID. This is so Airbnb can confirm who’s actually going on the experience. You’ll only have to do this once.
