What you'll do

Let's face it - Charleston is really hot in the summer. This tour takes place in the evening, after the heat of the day. Remember starting 1 October 2019 the "6 PM" tour starts at 5:30 because it gets dark sooner. We also only offer this tour until Daylight Savings time change on November 3rd. Our walking tour starts at Waterfront Park where we spend time relaxing in the shade of Live Oak trees as the cool ocean breeze keeps us comfortable – while we chat about the very colorful history and the early fort of Charles Towne. Always on the shady side of the street – we stroll up behind the exchange building, down several other history packed avenues revealing everything from slave markets, to massive churches, historic buildings, and even the oldest house in Charleston. When we’re finished we’ll end up very close to where we started at waterfront park. None the worse for wear, and the proud new owners of the most valuable souvenir you can take home from your trip – knowledge.

Hi, I'm Mark - I became a tour guide because I love people, and I love history - I also love to talk :) Passion is the only word to describe how I feel about the rich history of Charleston South Carolina. I’m a southern boy at heart, an actor, and part of a very small group licensed by the city of Charleston to take people on tours. My passion for history, the love of the teaching experience, and the really cool things I get to show you are a big part of why I love doing what I do - so come on... I'll show you my city!
