What you'll do
Cookery courses are fun and at AlchemyFlow we like our events served with some radicality too. In this workshop, we bring together current research and insights into food, health and healing to show how the simple act of fermenting in the home kitchen may not only benefit ourselves personally but reverberate into wider social, political and environmental realms. Expect an evening of "blinding statements of rebellion" and "gut-savvy politics", incorporated with a sound technical education in the fermentation arts and other gut healing methods and techniques. What to expect on the day: On arriving, to get your tastebuds engaged as well as your minds, you'll be served a platter for fermented foods featuring some of the recipes explored throughout the evening. Then I'll provide an enlightening and fast paced discussion on how the new science of the microbiome is relevant to your health and how fermentation may be a big part of that. A line up of interactive demonstrations will then teach you creative ways to ferment using different techniques. A practical group session at the end will allow you to put these skills in action in creating some sauerkraut to ferment at home.

You'll be provided with a handbook exploring some of the information and recipes that we explore in the workshop.
