What you'll do

We will go either to the Organic Farmers Market (open on Tuesday and Saturday only) or to Mercado Madero to look for local produce. This will be a great opportunity to chat with locals, immerse in the La Paz culture, practice your Spanish and maybe get some great photos of you (I'll make sure I bring my good camera!). Then, we will walk on either Revolucion or Madero Street heading east, where you'll find tons of beautiful flowers, colourful painted walls, interesting architecture and lots of history. We then will get to our final destination, my Grandfather's beautiful kitchen. Here I will teach you how to cook a vegan or vegetarian Mexican meal using fresh local ingredients. Are you a guacamole lover? How about a delicious vegan ceviche? Have you been always curious about jicama but you've never tried it before? This will be your chance to experience the joys of simple vegan/vegetarian Mexican cooking while sharing the table with a local in your language.

Where you'll be

We will visit downtown La Paz, this is where both the Organic Farmers Market and Mercado Madero are located. Then we will walk around my favourite streets of the city, with the option of walking along the Malecon (ocean boardwalk) instead. Our final destination will be my grandfather's house, in the historic "El Esterito" neighbourhood, really close to where I went to school and lived my early life in La Paz.
