What you'll do

Whether you're a new runner or a veteran athlete from another part of the world, I will show you the mesmerizing nature and beauty of Los Angeles from the perspective of a seasoned trail runner and marathoner! During our run, I’ll give you tips on how to run your best marathon. We'll also discuss nutrition, hydration, weekly mileage, running form, running gear, your mental game during marathon training and during the marathon itself. All while looking at the beautiful scenery of Los Angeles while running on the trails! :) At this time, I am only guiding runs during specific hours. The morning runs are beautiful and cool. The evening sunset runs can be quite majestic. The sun sets around 4:45pm in the winter and the trails get dark very quickly. It gets very hot during the summer, so I do not recommend the trails mid-day, unless you're specifically heat training and have sufficient hydration, nutrition and experience. I pace on average between 10 to 13 minute miles, depending on the trail. The shortest and fastest trail run tour is a 3.75 mile loop at Griffith Park. This is a 1 hour run. Then, I have a 5 mile loop run and a 7 mile loop run at the Hollywood sign. Each take 2 hours to complete. Let's go for a run!

Hi runner! My name is Karina -- I’m a Pace Leader for the world-renowned New York Road Runners (NYRR) and a former Pace Leader for the Los Angeles Marathon and LA Road Runners. I'm also a Veteran Brand Ambassador for the brand Fitletic. I've helped many athletes cross the finish line and look forward to helping you achieve your goals, whether it's a 5K or 26.2 miles! I'm an 18 Time Marathoner and have ran over 30 races around the world, including TCS New York City Marathon, Bank of America Chicago Marathon, Schneider Electric Paris Marathon, BMW Frankfurt Marathon, Rock 'n' Roll Seattle Marathon, Chevron Houston Marathon, among many others. Each trail has its own personality, feel and vistas. Griffith Park and Hollywood Sign have views of LA and Downtown Los Angeles.

Things to keep in mind

Cancellation policy

Any experience can be cancelled and fully refunded within 24 hours of purchase, or at least 7 days before the experience starts.

Communication policy

Always communicate through Airbnb. To protect your payment, never transfer money or communicate outside of the Airbnb website or app.

Guest requirements

Up to 10 guests ages 18 and up can attend. Guests should be able to hike, jog or run for a minimum of one hour. There are limited restrooms on the trails. Be prepared!

Government ID

You’ll need to take a picture of yourself that matches the photo on your ID. This is so Airbnb can confirm who’s actually going on the experience. You’ll only have to do this once.

If you'd like to book a more challenging run in the Santa Monica Mountains, Topanga State Park or Malibu State Park, please book a “Private Group” run. The rates are different as these runs are typically between 2 to 5 hours.
