What you'll do

Sightseeing walking tour through town. In this experience you will learn about Djupivogur’s story through the ages. On the way you might hear about icelandic folklore, stop at and visit a bone and stone collection and at a coffeehouse. This town has beautiful landmarks, lighthouse, old houses and architectural surroundings. The walk might take up to 2 hours maximum and guests are free to stop and explore whenever throughout the tour. This town has a rich birdlife so the tour will be both focusing on landmarks, stories and natures wildlife, which includes for example reindeers, foxes and birds living near the town. After the tour is over guests can look at old photos of the town and stop for a hot cocoa.

Guðný

I am a teacher in a sportschool for children with a bachelor degree in anthropology. I’m also taking care of home service for the elderly in town. I know the town from own experience and through the historical facts. The community in Djupivogur has tought me so much about slow movement and sustainable lifestyle. I was the project manager of the green flag eco project for over 2 years. The last 3 years i’ve been working on educating both kindergarten employees and children to take care of the nature and about the Cittaslow movement here.
