What you'll do

Our hike out to Little Port Cooper is regarded amongst locals as a best kept secret It starts here in Camp Bay and hikes out to Litte Port Cooper Depending on where animals are grazing and time of year you get to see them in their natural environment. You’ll be greeted here at our homestead for a quick cup of tea, coffee or cold drink, a briefing on the area and some history, local features, hike, safety and loop options with a handy trail guide. You’ll be shown the start point The terrain is clay based and can be slippery if wet. The old pack saddle track is wide enough for a horse to walk in most places. The scenery is spectacular and seldom seen by others. Hiking starts at sea level and climbs to 125 m above sea level. Once you’re at this height the gradient is flat and traverses around the hillsides until you’re above Little Port Cooper. The distance is approx 4.5kms each way Allow 1:75-2:00 hours each way. ...and after your return you can take an optional for a swim at Camp Bay beach below the homestead.

Sam

I’ve been involved in our farm business since we purchased the farm in 2014. I’ve worked in the agricultural industry, it seems forever since the 1980s I studied at Lincoln University, New Zealand’s most reknown Agricultural tertiary provider, graduating with a Post Grad Diploma in Commerce My experience over these trails is by the many hours working and hiking for mustering the farm animals that you’ll also see. We also host AirBnB guests in our homestead and 2 off grid rustic farm cabins. I will give you snippets of this area’s history on the go or before you leave the homestead.
