What you'll do

We will explore the seven hills of Istanbul by visiting important artifacts. We will continue our tour with our visit to Edirnekapı Mihrimah Sultan Mosque and Kariye Museum (outdoor mostly) and visit Yavuz Selim Mosque and Fener Rum High School (outdoor only). After discovering both Byzantine and Ottoman works, we will visit Fatih Mosque and its madrasas, which were built during the Ottoman period, right after the conquest of the city. Then we will discover the historical works of Architect Sinan in the classical period while we are watching the unique view of Istanbul with Suleymaniye Mosque and Complex. From here we will listen to the interesting story of Çemberlitaş from the Roman Empire. In the meantime, we will see the Nuruosmaniye Mosque, a late Ottoman monument, after touring the Grand Bazaar, the world's oldest and most active shopping place. Finally, we will visit the Sultan Ahmet Mosque and complete our tour at the Byzantine Hippodrome and today at the Sultan Ahmet Square. Before completing our tour, we will listen to the Hagia Sophia Museum, Topkapi Palace and the magnificent combination of the Blue Mosque.

Erkan

This magnificent city, which has hosted three great empires for thousands of years, has been hosting me for 10 years. I completed my undergraduate study in History in this beautiful city. During this time, I had lots of guests from America and Europe. Now I am pursuing a master's degree in Ottoman history & gender studies and working as a training and development program manager. I continue to make trips to both teach and rediscover the history and daily life of Istanbul. I am an Ottoman historian who is in love with Latin American literature, who enjoys cycling and enjoys exploring Istanbul delicacies.
