What you'll do

If you like history and archeology, this experience is for you!
The Arqueositio will open just for us! ( except on Sundays and Mondays). In this place we will see the archaeological discoveries of the civilizations that inhabited here between the X- VII b.C century until the XX century.
We will continue to the Sé yard to understand how people lived in the neuralgic point of Portuscale in the Medial Age. We will continue to the "Cricket Church" and we will walk through the medieval streets of the XI century walled city.
Then, we will start walking "inside" the XIV century medieval walls visiting the wonderful São Bento tiled train station, Aliados Avenue, Clérigos tower until we will reach to the old prison of the city.
Next, we will walk through the XIV century Jewish quarter, down the "synagogue stairs " up to Infant´s square surrounded by the Palacio da Bolsa, Saint Francis church and the Ferreira Borges Market.
At the end, we will pass by the Infant´s House, first medieval customs office in Porto and we will finish our tour in the Ribeira Pier, a place where Celts, Visigoths, Romans, Moors, who arrived at different times, transformed into the most important place in the city, because it was the" point" where businesses were made!. This legacy continues until today, with the commercialization of the Port wine, nectar of Porto.
Other things to note
On Sundays and Mondays the Arqueossitio is closed, but don´t worry because if you need to make a reservation on these days, I will give you all the informations of this archaeological site at the door of this place, so you will not miss anything!

I have been working in tourism since 1984, always creating "taylor made" trips for my clients to visit places that traditional tours do not offer!
In 2010, I became a tourist guide, because I LOVE to explore, to discover until the last stone of the cities where I live, understand the history and the stories.
I moved to Porto in 2017 where I AM AN OFFICIAL TRAVEL GUIDE!
I fell in love with the medieval history and the archaeological legacy of this wonderful city. So, I created this experience!, to share with you what I discovered!

What a wonderful tour of Porto! While we had high hopes for this tour, Claudia far exceeded them! Claudia is an excellent storyteller who brings the history of Porto to life. Starting with the access to the archeological site and through the whole history of Porto Claudia tells the story in a thoughtful way with lots of interesting detail. We came away with a much better appreciation of how Porto came to be. If you want to dive deep into Porto, this 3 hour tour is not to be missed.

Hi, I just want to say that I wholeheartedly recommend this tour. The guide is an amazing woman, patient and with a ton of knowledge. I had an amazin experience, well-paced, thoughtful and intriguing. She knows so much about the city and overall it just captivates you with her story telling. A must do when coming to Porto.

I strongly recommend both this tour and Claudia. She provided a wealth of information about not only the obvious tourist sites but also other sites we would have never noticed. She placed the information about what we were seeing into the context of both the history of Portugal and of Porto as well as the daily life of their residents. The opportunity to visit the archaeological ruins that normally are closed to the public and to hear Claudia’s explanations of what appeared just to be dirt and stones made the site come alive. Claudia was very personable, well informed and extremely accommodating. On only one day’s notice she charged the normal per-person rate to give a friend and me a tour at a time that was not on her posted schedule and went out of her way to get us access to the ruins.

Claudia is a very knowledgeable tour guide with lots of experience. We left with a much better understanding of the local history. Claudia personalized the tour for us and focused on what we were most interested in.
