What you'll do

Upon meeting, guests will be guided on a walking tour through the heart of Mount Pleasant. We will stop at 3 locally owned food stops offering eco-friendly, plant-based, gluten free & organic foods. On the way, I will guide you through the alleys to take photos at nearby murals done by local artists and teach you about the history of veganism in this city and it's connection to the hippie movement in the 60's up until the current resurgence of plant-based living. On this tour, you can expect to learn something new, eat tasty and plant-based food, and take MANY insta worthy photos. Each food location will also provide food samples and the option for you to buy your own menu items while we continue our tour (at a special, discounted rate specifically for our tour guests). I encourage you to bring your own travel mug and food container to avoid unnecessary packaging waste (if you don't have any with you please let me know as I may be able to bring some for you). Our last stop will be a perfect lunch spot where you can enjoy a meal, or continue on with your day as you please.

As a local influencer, I am in the know of Vancouver's best vegan foods and local hot spots of the Main Street area. Coming to Vancouver 7 years ago, I have never stopped being a tourist in my own city. My undergraduate studies in environmental sustainability taught me about the historical significance of the vegan movement here in Vancouver, and how it has evolved over time. I founded Blackberrytrees to educate, and build an urban community of people who care about their ecological impact and who want to elevate their lifestyle.

Where you'll be

We'll start off with my favourite place in the city for Açai bowls and healthy breakfast options. The second stop is a café with good vibes, lots of friendly faces and donuts (vegan, and gluten free options available). Lastly is slow food restaurant allowing you to appreciate local food at it's best. However, it's the journey and not the destinations which make this tour worthwhile.
