About your host

I am a local haida with 8 years of experience catering to people, 4 years in tourism on haida gwaii. I hope to inspire & illuminate people with the stories, legacies, & history of the haida nation. I thrive around new people. I have always loved working in tourism. It is a great passion of mine. I hope to share this passion with people from around the world.

What we’ll do

We will meet outside of my family house that is located just down the street from our first totem pole break. In total we will stop to admire 13 totem poles. But a grand total of 15 breaks. 2 of which at local haida owned businesses. One for art the other food. Only 3 of these stops will be on what is called the back road and 12 will be on the front road along the inlet. The tour will always come…

What else you should know

This house is my aunty's air bnb. It has a porch on the front of the house facing the inlet. It has a large lawn mower parked in view. I will always be waiting with a sign A Walk Through Haida History

What I’ll provide

Drinks
Coffee, tea, delicious baked goods from the haida owned cafe in the village.

What to bring

Walking shoes
Water bottle
Snack
Sunscreen
Camera
Cash (some businesses are cash only)

Proper clothing for walking and weather

Where you'll be

We will be waling through the entire village and I will be talking about the history of the village itself along with the buildings, totem poles, schools, & everything in between.
