What you'll do

Get in touch with Portuguese gastronomy from A to Z . This means getting familiar with the history of the place, the people behind the product, the origin of the dish, its confection and ultimately tasting a rich cuisine: 1) Roadtrip through Alentejo’s dry, golden plains and its traditional whitewashed villages. 2) Visit a local Homestead to get familiar with the argricultural products from Alentejo (If partner unavailable we will go on a cork tour) 3) Have a traditional Alentejo lunch in Montemor o Novo. 4) Go on a wine tour and wine tasting. 5) If we have time we can catch the sunset in Arraiolo's castle. Much like its Mediterranean cousins, Portugal’s food is vast, rich and ultimately an experience difficult to forget. During this day, you will be immersed in Portuguese gastronomy from Alentejo and understand why the cuisine is the way it is!

CAN AN IVY LEAGUE MBA BECOME A TOUR GUIDE? Yes I can! why in the hell did I, an Economics graduate with an MBA degree from Cornell University, decide to start from scratch?! Why did I decide to join Air BnB Experiences? Easy. I love my country. I really do. Every bit of it. Its rich history, its heavenly food, its passionate music, and its people. Its good things and its bad things… So I eventually asked myself what could I do with my passion for Portugal? I decided to create Rootfarers. We promote authentic experiences for authentic travelers. Join one of our tours!
