What you'll do
This experience is a walk through the history of not only particular (Tagansky) Moscow district, but about whole city history & architecture. We'll start at Krutitsy, monastery and village at Moscow river side, founded in XIII century, than will move to Novospassky Monastery - a very important place for Romanov's dinasty. Than we'll walk through soviet district ("Dubrovka" village), which is classic example of the conctructivism style. Passing by Vorontsovkie bains (very important part of soviet life), we'll cross the street with typical merchant buildings of XIX century. Having a break in traditional Blinnaya (pancake place), we will continue to Taganskiy Hill (it's believed, that Moscow was based on 7 hills, and Taganskiy is one of them) watching historical buildings of different epoques. Walk will be ended nearby one of Moscow Seven sisters (Stalin's high-rises) with visiting "Illusion" cinema and grocery store.
I'm a young historian and Moscow lover! I travel a lot, and it helps me to catch my own city with a fresh eye - what sights are very specific and most significant among others but at the same time are not usually visited by tourists. I live nearby historical center, close to Taganka district, and walking through this place could form almost full picture of Moscow history through different types of buildings and architectural styles. More than a year keeping an Instagram about interesting places in Moscow, from now on I'm ready to share my experience with you!
During our walk, we'll visit Blinnaya (traditional russian pancake cafe), to eat some bliny (sweet or salty).
Visiting blinnaya, we'll drink some tea or coffee
