Clearlake Canoe Tour

About your host

I have been hiking, flying and exploring Lake County for years, and I'm out on the lake every week, snapping photos, meeting fishermen and getting to know the shoreline. I grew up in the Northeast and have been boating all my life. Past excursions include the Charles River (MA), Connecticut River (MA/CT), Mystic River (MA), the Blackstone River (RI), Pigeon River (TN), Deerfield River (MA),…

What we’ll do

Clear Lake is meant to be seen by water. Experience a 2-4 hour guided tour the lower lake, and historic Anderson Marsh by canoe. Launching from Redbud Park in Clearlake, CA, we will paddle at a leisurely pace along the eastern edge the lake in a scenic loop around Indian Island, the tule marshes of Anderson Marsh State Park, Cache Creek and then back up the western edge under the Lake County…

Where you'll be

Starting at Redbud Park, we'll move south along the lakefront homes lining Old highway 53, then head into Anderson Marsh State Park where we will navigate the tule mazes, Indian island, Garner Island and Slater Island, with a snack stop near North Cove under the Vigilance Vineyards. We'll then head up the western shore for an iconic photo of Mount Konocti before heading back to Redbud.
