ISTANBUL COOKING CLASS 9:30 am – 14:30 pm *After we meet we will walk through the reknown Spice Market and stop for a private Turkish Spices Tasting session in a shop that has been there since five generations. *Then we will take a short scenic ferry ride over the Bosphorus to the Asian side of Istanbul. We will drive to a real Turkish home on the Asian side of Istanbul and cook a traditional home-cooked Turkish meal together. Dishes are approachable and easy to replicate in your home country. The best part is the conclusion: Tasting your creations! *For lunch, you will savor what you have cooked! A six course menu you have prepared, accompanied with boutique Turkish wines. *Vegetarian and gluten free Turkish food is not a challenging option for us – it’s easy being green and creating exciting Turkish vegetarian and gluten free recipes at Turkish Flavours. After lunch we wiil drive you back to the Kadıkoy pier for you to take the ferry to the European side of Istanbul.

Since 2006 I pioneered the idea of “Food Tours in Turkey “ and promoted all that is extraordinary not only about the Turkish Table, but also about the Turkish way of life, “l’Art de Vivre” in Turkey. We were the first to lead a group of strangers through the streets of Istanbul while tasting delicious foods or hosting them in my home to teach them Turkish cooking. I was a travel agent for 25 years.Exploring different cultures through cuisine is one of my favourite parts while travelling. Great food has always been an important part of memorable vacations. Why not show you the real Istanbul?

Where you'll be

Depart to the Spice Bazaar This extensive market was built in the 17th century to finance the upkeep of the nearby mosque, Yeni Cami. The bazaar is often referred to as the “Egyptian Market” due to the fact that spices used to come to the market from India and Southeast Asia via Egypt. There is plenty to discover for the “foodie.” Selin's home is on the Asian side of Istanbul. Her kitchen is designed for cooking classes up to 12 participants.
