What you'll do
An exuberant jungle in central Paris? Well yes! Monstera deliciosas, American cacti, and drooping Aristolochia grow comfortably in the large Greenhouses in the Jardin des Plantes (French for 'Gaden of the Plants') Amid this green chaos, I suggest looking at the shapes and details that make nature so beautiful and strange. We will explore the patterns and textures present in a leaf, bark, root ... We will see how certain patterns can be repeated to the point of filling an entire sheet of notebook. These micro-universes are of a phenomenal graphic richness! More than a drawing lesson, I offer methods of observation, whatever your technical level. The only essential thing is your attention to detail that hits the mark. I provide the material: sketchbook, pens, pencils. However, feel free to bring your own equipment if you wish.
Franco-Mexican designer and illustrator, I am currently working in Paris. Passionate about botany, I track down the extraordinary textures and sensations present in the details of nature. Outdoor drawing and travelogues are fundamental in my research. Indian ink, watercolor and colored pencils are my main tools for creating images that I then print in silkscreen. At the Doc ! Contemporary Art Center in Paris I run a live model workshop. I like people and sharing my knowledge with the curious!
