What we’ll do

Going to the beach is one thing, but experiencing sailing is to step into another world where wind and water rule. You will learn how to steer the boat and adjust sails, while we sailing in New Bedford harbor a commercial fishing port since the days of whaling ships.

What I’ll provide

Equipment
All guest will be provided with life jackets while on board.

What to bring

Non-slip shoes that do not have dark soles
A jacket or sweater -it is usually much cooler on the water
Sunscreen and/or hat

Where you'll be

We will sail through New Bedford harbor with its fishing fleet on one side of the harbor and the Fairhaven shipyard on the other. New Bedford plays host to a wide variety of ships. We will head out of the harbor through the hurricane barriers gates which hold back storm surges, past the cannons of Fort Phoenix. The first revolutionary naval battle occurred off Fairhaven in 1775. Weather permitting we will sail out to Butler Flats Lighthouse.
