About your host

I am an experienced sport coach and surfer of over 10 years, and a qualified lifeguard. I love both the technical elements of the surfing, as well as the sense of adventure and camaraderie of surfing together. For the last 2 years, I have been taking people from various backgrounds and nationalities on weekend surf trips all over England & Wales , providing equipment and knowledge for a session,…

What we’ll do

Pick-up and pack the car with bags/boards. Road trip! Snack, share stories and get to know each other. Surf session. Refuel at local pub or café. Discuss triumphs and challenges of the session. Explore local town. If possible (if there is enough time) another surf!. Drive home, or to that night's accommodation.

What else you should know

You need to be able to swim to take part in surfing safely. Ensure you have eaten substantially between 2-6 hours before we arrive. Do not be intoxicated, hungover or ill when you go surfing.

What I’ll provide

Transportation
A key part of my experience is my car and roof rack!
Equipment
I have 3 beginner boards & 3 advanced ones which I often lend out, alongside spare women's & men's wetsuits. Plus surf wax!

What to bring

Ideally a wetsuit, but there is also nearby rental service, or normally one of my spares fits
If they are an advanced surfer, their own board, but typical beginners can use my ones.
A towel. But I can lend some if need be!
Snacks and water. I do often bring a flask of tea/cocoa to share

Where you'll be

Typical surf spots: East Witterings, West Sussex,: A southwest-facing gem on the south coast of England, by the historic town of Chichester Porthcawl, South Wales: A great surf spot nestled in between Cardiff & Swansea Walberswick. Suffolk: This break has good waves on a northerly and is next to the historic brewing town of Southwold Joss Bay, Margate, Kent; gets waves on a northerly/easterly and is nearby the Turner Museum & Tracy Emin Gallery
