What we’ll do

An introduction to packing with donkeys. We travel across country to the Tepon Coaching road to take morning tea on the banks of the Wild River. Then take the easy gradient to the foot of "Mount Jesus" where we tether the donkeys and walk to the summit to admire views across the Evelyn Tableland and to Silver Valley and The Great Dividing Range to the west. This walk is in natural bush along cattle pads and unprepared tracks. Vegetarian, and special dietary requirements catered for. Advice of preference or requirement is required at time of booking.

What I’ll provide

Snacks and Other
Picnic lunch of cold meats, cheeses and condiments, "Billy" tea or coffee boiled on an open fire.Local specialities in season. Morning tea or "Smoko". Scones, traditional Brownie cake or ANZAC biscuits served with billy tea, coffee or cold drinks .
Equipment
Pack donkeys on shared basis to carry food and luggage.

Enclosed footwear suitable for walking on unprepared tracks,

Where you'll be

Kalinvale Farm is a small bush block and the donkey depot for our 28 pack donkeys. The farm is surrounded by natural Eucalypt forest the home of many native animals. The Wild River is the site of the Herberton Deep Lead, a rich source of alluvial tin and site of many small tin mines.MT Jesus is an outlier of the Great Dividing Range and site of The Anti-Socialist Mine, named when the union movement of North Queensland was forming.
