What you'll do
Love tea? Visiting London? Want to live like a local by experiencing a typical British tearoom? Then our London Tea Tour is for you! We will take you on a whirlwind tea tour through London, sampling tea at iconic spots that have helped shape London and British tea culture, finishing with complimentary cream tea at a traditional British tearoom, where you can choose from 45 different varieties of tea along with scones, cream and jam. We will meet at Aldwych Post Office, before making the quick walk along the Strand to Twinings flagship store, home to tastings, a museum and unique varieties of teas that are available at that branch only. We'll stroll across the Thames and walk alongside the river, where we will explore the history of tea and buildings where tea was traded some 300 years ago. There will be plenty of opportunities for memorable pictures and some sampling here as we weave in and out of streets around the Thames and Borough Market. We will finish at one of the finest and most quintessentially British tea houses in London, where we will stop for cream tea (scones, cream and jam and choice of tea from 45 different varieties) - all included in the price of the tour.
Since an early age, I have been fascinated by the tea and its history in London, even writing on the topic for a school project at the age of 7! I have now been in the tea and coffee industry for 10+ years in UK, Europe and Japan, where I have been fortunate to learn plenty on tea ranging from the history of the London tea industry centred around the Thames to the sencha green tea regions in Japan. After living in Japan for three years, I returned to London in 2017, a city that is shaped by tea, both its history, trade and cafe culture.
