What you'll do

This is a 3 hour relaxed walk through the forest to enjoy a peaceful time with Nature. We will depart around 10 am from the meeting point (Flores do Cabo restaurant) and walk to Adro Nunes, an old dolmen located 420m above the sea level with a panoramic view of Cape Roca and the western coast of Lisbon. We will continue our walk to Peninha Sanctuary. On our way up we'll appreciate magnificent views of Guincho and Cascais. We will avoid the main road and use trails in the middle of the forest. This is a mindfulness walk of full communion with Nature. The sound of trees, birds and the ocean is all we will hear. We will stop in several viewpoints to take landscape pictures. We'll come back around 1.30 pm. There is the option of having lunch in a typical restaurant in the village of Penedo or at a restaurant near the beach (you choose). We invite you to collect any plastic you notice during the walk. We want to make sure that we keep our forest clean :) This walk is suitable for all ages. It can be adapted to families with children under 12. If you are not staying nearby, please send us a message we can organise a pick up from Sintra or Cascais train station.

Rita

Hi, I am Rita a nature and sports lover. After living 8 years in London I've moved back to Lisbon to be closer to friends, family and the beach :) I love to run and do functional training outside either on the beach or in Sintra woods. I studied Nutrition and Sports and love to motivate people to move!!! Sometimes training inside a gym can be boring, my goal is to bring people outside to enjoy Nature. I'd be delighted to take you on a walk inside Sintra Forest to explore the hidden viewpoints of this magic place.

Where you'll be

We will avoid main roads and walk on trails of Sintra Forest that are better to do with someone who knows the area. We will visit Adro Nunes, an old dolmen located 420m above the sea level with a panoramic view of Cape Roca and the western coast of Lisbon. We will continue our walk to Peninha Sanctuary, a closed chapel, located on the top of the hill therefore with a magnificent view from Lisbon to Cascais.
