Everyone starts with a rectangular piece of sterling silver that that will be hammered, filed, and soldered into a cool textured ring band. After determining your ring size you will mark and cut your silver using a jewellers saw. Next we use a mallet to form the silver around a ring mandrel. Once your silver is round I will solder it closed while explaining the soldering process. Now we get to have fun hammering a texture into the surface of the rings and curving the edges with a file. Participants are given creative freedom with the hammer and files to texture and curve their rings as they desire. There are 3 textures to choose from and the textures can be combined as well. After all the hammering and filing we give them a quick polish, finishing them either shiny or matte, and your rings are ready to wear.
