What you'll do
We'll meet for some banh mi (a Vietnamese sandwich) and Vietnamese coffee or fruit shakes at Marrickville Pork Roll—a counter-service cafe. Then we'll visit an Asian grocery to shop for ingredients to make beef or chicken pho (noodle soup) and fresh rice paper rolls. We'll go back to my place to cook. You'll be involved in every stage of the preparation and cooking process. After we're done cooking, we'll sit down to enjoy our lunch. I'll send you home with recipes so you can recreate these dishes at home.
I'm a Vietnamese food educator and a passionate cook. My recipes have been served in Sydney restaurants such as Mr. Wong, Ms. G's, and Thanh Binh. After 20 years of commercial cooking, I love to pass on my tips to anyone interested in Vietnamese cuisine.
