What you'll do
We convene at the impressive Festival Square before our adventures commence at a local microbrewery and pub where we can discover an array of alcoholic or non alcoholic beers brewed on site. Here we will also sample the local delicacy that is the Scotch Egg. A rare treat laid only by the Scotch chicken. We'' take a brief stop at St. Cuthbert's Church and graveyard giving some great angles for nice pictures of the Castle. From here we meander into town shadowing the base of the Castle learning some of the vast History of this ancient area. We'll take a wee picnic stop for some artisanal mead or local gin and a freshly baked savoury snack in the sunshine (if we believe it, it will happen!) We stroll through Grassmarket learning of the chequered past heading towards our seasonal lunch at "The Outsider" restaurant where we enjoy a menu including local classics alongside the daily changing specials.
Scotch Egg or veggie alternative, a light snack and Lunch from a seasonal menu.
Scottish mineral water, Scottish soft drinks, a local beer and mead or gin.
